ABOUT OUR PROGRAMME
Our traineeship programme is designed to bring you fast-track into a senior expert role in your chosen field. As a trainee, you will have the chance to work in specialized areas, exciting projects and gain exposure to different departments and leaders. In addition, you can complete an assignment in one of our METRO countries abroad, providing a truly international experience.
In our trainee programme in Procurement, you will experience a steep learning curve in sourcing food and non-food that brings our assortment to the next level and drives business growth. You will get hands-on experience in analyzing market trends, defining assortment ranges, negotiating with suppliers and contract handling, and collaborating closely with our international wholesale entities. You will gain first-hand insights in our International Trading Offices and develop your expertise in monitoring food and non-food related Quality Assurance. Finally, you deep-dive into our strategic Own Brands division, making sure article ranges and packaging meet our professional customers’ core needs.

Qualifications
What you need to bring to the table to be eligible:
- A master's degree in business/economics with a specialization in Procurement, Food Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or a related field with very good results
- Relevant internships in above mentioned area
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complexity
- Ability to learn quickly, adaptability to new and changing environments, open and pro-active personality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel
- Fluency in English (min. B2); any additional European language is a plus
